Is EMS suitable for Post-Natal Training?

The positive effects naturally apply to all of the connective tissue and skin structures that are stretched and overstretched during a pregnancy.

Does EMS Training Hurt?

EMS training is no more strenuous than a conventional workout. By the end of the session you will need a rest and a drink of water, depending on the intensity of your workout. The equipment uses low impulse frequency, the experience of receiving the impulses may take a little getting used to, but it is not painful in any way.

Can I stand still and let the machine do all the work?

This is not how the technology works. The technology enhances the impact of the exercises you do, but you must be doing exercises in order to experience benefits. During each session you will be guided through a routine with our personal trainer, performing exercises such as press ups, and squats. As you work out, the electrical pulses will stimulate the muscles, dramatically improving the efficiency of the exercise routine.

What is the age limit with EMS training?

The minimum age for using EMS is 16, and there is no upper age limit. We would be delighted to train someone in their nineties, though admittedly, we could be waiting some time before we do. Our instructors can tailor sessions according to your goals and fitness levels by controlling each muscle group and adjusting the intensity of the workout session.

How long would it take before you see results with EMS training?

Our clients usually report visible results within four to six sessions. It can take a little longer, or shorter, depending on your body weight and level of fitness when you come for your first session.

What kind of equipment do you use?

We use the VisionBody Wireless EMS system, which was launched in Germany in January 2015. It’s the next generation of EMS technology. VisionBody is a market leader manufacturer of Electric Muscle Stimulation equipment. The device we use has been sold in more than twenty countries, and is estimated to do over 200,000 trainings per month.

How long do the sessions last?

The workout element of the session lasts exactly twenty minutes. Prior to the routine, you will need to change into the suit, and, if it your first time, have a short explanation of the equipment. Therefore, in total, we would allow thirty to forty minutes in and out.

How often can I do the training?

We recommend that our clients train twice a week. After each training session it usually takes around 24-36 hours for the body to recover and consequently, doing more than three sessions is not recommended. As you see you progress and your body adjusts accordingly, you can train thrice a week based on our trainer’s recommendation.

What is the cancellation policy?

If you cancel a session within 24 hours, then we are afraid that you will lose that session. If you give us at least 24 hours notice however, you are entitled to a free re-booking of the session.

What do I need to bring along to the session?

There is no need to bring anything! We will provide you with the suits, as well as a towel for after the session. We have full shower facilities so you can freshen up after your training. You don't need to bring any training gear whatsoever.

Is it safe and hygienic to wear the training suits that are used on other clients?

The suits are cleaned and washed for each client. We also sell the suits if you’d prefer to have your own. The electrodes on the main body suit work through the fabric and do not make direct contact with the skin. They are cleaned and replaced regularly, and are produced with special anti-bacterial fabric for hygienic use.

How much time can I save by using EMS?

You only need to work out once or twice per week to achieve comparable results to several hours in the gym. This means you can literally save yourself hours per week! The results will come quickest if you workout twice per week.

How did EMS come about?

Back in 200 BC Claudius Galenus discovered that illnesses such as headaches and gout could be treated using a natural electric impulse. Through the application of his forward-thinking research, Galenus was the first to discover that EMS might be beneficial to the strength and well being of the human body.

Skip forward to 1780,in the studio of Luigi Galvani, he discovered that a frog’s leg contracts as the result of electronic stimulation. This scientific breakthrough showed that electric impulses could be used to elicit a controlled contraction from a muscle but it took almost another 100 years for the first meaningful book to be published on the subject.
